🍃Kalimba Tab Player

Type numbered-notation kalimba tabs below and hear how they'd sound on a 17-tine kalimba.

Tab format (numbered notation / jianpu):
17 = scale degrees (do re mi fa sol la ti) in C major.
1' = one octave up, 1'' = two octaves up. 1, = one octave down.
- = extend the previous note by one more beat.
0 = rest for one beat.
3. = dotted note, 1.5x the duration.
(3'5), [1 3 5], or 1-3-5 = play those notes together as a chord (strummed fast, in order).
| = bar line, purely visual — ignored when playing.
Separate notes with spaces or newlines — a newline also inserts a small pause during playback (set with Line gap) to mark the phrase boundary.

Your kalimba's actual pitch may sit a little higher/lower than the app's default — use Transpose to nudge it until it matches your instrument.
